Le Beaujolais Nouveau est arrivé!

As long as I can remember, my family enjoyed Beaujolais Nouveau soon after, if not the day of, it’s release date. Since I was a child, my mother would order a couple of bottles by air freight, just so friends and family could have a taste before that sea shipments made it over here from France. Of course, now all you have to do is walk into your local grocery store on the third Thursday of November, and there is a good chance they will have a display of Beaujolais Nouveau ready for your enjoyment.

Banners. Posters. Tasting parties. Really, it is all just an excuse to have fun, thanks to the marketing efforts of Georges Duboeuf. Over the years it seems Beaujolais Nouveau’s popularity has grown. Over the years, so have the labels. That’s right: the labels on the bottle. See, the label design has always been colorful and energetic.

I think this year’s label is really well done. It has the energy. It has the style. Now go find a party, and have some fun.
